האם תת-בעיה חייבת להיות ביטוי אלגברי? או שאפשר להגדיר אותה להיות קבוצה של ערכים? ואז כמובן, כדי להביע את תת-בעיה באמצעות תתי בעיות קטנות יותר, אני משתמש בפעולות בין קבוצות.

או אפילו אלגוריתם שלם במקום סתם פעולות בין קבוצות.

yes, any way you like is fine, but it's probably safer not to try to invent the wheel and rely on the techniques learned in class and the tirgul. If you want to do things differently, that is fine, but it will usually be harder to prove correctness.
