Hi all,

We submitted grades today, so you probably can see them in the system.

It was perhaps the noise or the heat, but in order to boost your grades to a level we felt comfortable with, we had to tweak the calculation a bit.

Here's the elementary formula we used:^{1}

- Exam grade - $E$, which you can get from summing individual question points, multiplying each of the best four by 2.25;
- Homework grade - $H$, which you can find in the grades file on the exercises page;
- Combined grade - $C = \max(E, 0.9 \cdot E + 0.1 \cdot H)$;
- Post-factor grade - $P = 0.37 \cdot C + 0.63 \cdot 10\sqrt{C}$;
- Final grade - $F = \begin{cases} 60 &\mbox{if } 54\le P\le 60,\\\lfloor P+0.5\rfloor & \mbox{otherwise.}\end{cases}$
